As soon as I get cleaned up, I'm off to Strawberry Fields. I'll give Tom a call and we can hang out. Then off to watch music DVDs with James and James. Apparently, there is a 360 Photo Group in NYC. Had I had more notice, I would have went to the meet this morning, but it was sort of early and I just found out about it yesterday.
Tomorrow I need to work on some school stuff and work on the stuff I promised I'd help my dad with.
Friday, I left work early and drove up to Dutchess County Stadium to see Bob Dylan play. One of the opening bands was a bluegrass band and they played Orange Blossom Special, which was totally awesome. Dylan himself was pretty good. For an encore he played It Ain't Me Babe and All Along The Watchtower. A really good show. The drive back sucked a bit due to the rain.
On Saturday, I wanted to see the water (big storm, lots of wind), so I drove to Jones Beach. Then I went out to lunch, which was alright. Since my parents didn't tell me that they were having company until just then, I had to come up with something to do for the day. I've never been to Montauk, so I decided to drive out. Blech, the Hamptons suck. Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure. But Montauk was nice. The wind was insane and the water was awesome. I really want to go back there one a day when the skies are blue and take some pictures. I find a few nice overlooks hidden away.
On Sunday, I spent the day organizing and cleaning because I'm OCD like that. Went out to dinner, which logistically wasn't the greatest, but it was alright.
Today, I was supposed to meet up with Tom. I haven't seen him in over a year, but we've chatted over IM. I think that it is pretty much my fault, but whatever. Anyhow, last minute things came up, so I told him that since I was planning on heading to Central Park next weekend, that I'd meet up with him then.
Also, I've discovered Pink Floyd's Atom Mother Heart Suite. Wow. Seriously, this is some good stuff. I can't believe I've never heard this before, especially as someone who owns The Wall on DVD, is a brass player and likes crazy, trippy epics.
I dragged Christina all the way to see the NY Phil last night. I thought it would last as long as last years, but it didn't. By the time we got there (there was a subway mixup, and we weren't the only ones either) we got there just in time to see the fireworks. I feel sort of bad about dragging her all the way to Central Park just to end up seeing fireworks.
We went back to the Island (the City is ick, I forgot about that) and grabbed dinner. She eats next to nothing. Than we just hung out at her house. Good stuff. I had a good time. I'm really glad I took today off as well, really didn't feel like going to work.
