DIY Arduino-Based Camera Controller

Canon thinks that all photographers only need +-2EV brackets, unless you own one of the very big Canons, and that 30 seconds is also enough. Unfortunately, it isn't enough for some of my night panoramas, and I was looking into ways to fix it (that included pleading to Canon, but we all know how far that goes).

So I decided to build my own long-exposure bracket controller, based on the arduino platform, with an Nokia LCD to actually have an user interface, other than a red button, write my own piece of software and test it last night... I call the gadget "Bracketmeister 0.32″ for now.

Keep Your Crap Without The Dust

jess chamberlain, a writer for home by sunset made this lovely memory box table top. wonderful way to keep your trinkets with style, without the dust.

I've got two or three of these tables, this looks neat.

Neat Place To Store Your Books

We were charmed to the core over this ingenius book storage idea. Yes, these are just planks of painted plywood nailed to the supports for the loft above. They create perfect cubby spaces to store books, baskets and even small lights.

Clear All Those Gadgets Off Your Desk

Everything is mounted underneath using MDF pegboard and some wire.

I want to do this this coming weekend. All I want to see left is my monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse and computer.

Come to think of it, that's still cluttered. Argh!

Magnetic Photo Rope

We have seen the future, and it is full of robots and magnets.

Magnetic Photo Rope is one of the coolest things we've found. Cool because it's sleek and silvery, because it uses tiny, surprisingly-strong magnets, and because it's not yet another boring photo frame. (It's cheaper, too!)

Not only will I have the the glassware of the future, I will have the magnets ... uhh ... photographic display mechanism of the future.

Though I think I'll figure out how to make this myself since $100 for a dozen is still damn expensive.

Marble Magnets

I finally gave in and made marble magnets. Not surprisingly they are quite fun, smooshing the glue out to make a perfect little magnified image is very satisfying.

I want to make these.
